Based on an interview with the American philanthropist Courtney Jaeger (CJ), the
team of the curatorial project “Courtney Jaeger” retrospectively looks back on the
inaugural season in Basel and the business year of 2023.

The book follows the structure of a business report. On 200 pages and across 12 chapters,
from Agenda Item 1 to 12, insights are provided—from initiation and initial steps to an
outlook—offering perspectives on theory and practice, challenges and
accomplishments, reality, and fiction within the curatorial field, sharing experiential
knowledge.

The Courtney Jaeger Annual Report 2023 can be read as an essay, handbook, or
catalog; it can guide or mislead.

What does it look like inside and outside the white cube, how can curation function
as a cultural practice, and who is CJ?
